How to Remove a Fake/ Inappropriate Google Review

How to Remove a Fake/ Inappropriate Google Review

Negative reviews can be challenging, but if a review doesn't meet Google's policies, it can be removed from your Qualicare Google Business Profile listing. For more details on Google's review policies, visit: Google Review Policies.

Steps to Flag a Review for Removal:

Option 1: Using Google Business Profile

  1. Sign in to your Google Business Profile.
  2. Select the location you'd like to manage if you have multiple listings.
  3. Click on the Reviews tab from the menu.
  4. Locate the review you'd like to flag, click the three-dot menu, and then select Flag as inappropriate.

Option 2: Using Google Maps

  1. Open Google Maps.
  2. Search for your business listing.
  3. Find the review you'd like to flag.
  4. Click the three-dot menu next to the review and select Flag as inappropriate.

After flagging, Google will review the complaint. It may take a few days for the review to be assessed, so there’s no need to contact Google support immediately.

In the Meantime:

  • Reach out to satisfied clients with Gmail accounts and ask them to share their positive experiences through a Google review.
  • Follow up with an email explaining how to leave a review. This can help push the negative review down until it is possibly removed.

Additional Escalation Options:

  1. Contact Google Support:
If the flagged review remains unresolved, visit your Google Business Profile homepage and click on the Support option at the bottom of the menu on the left.

  2. Legal Action:
If the review is defamatory or false, you can submit a legal removal request through Google. The criteria for this are strict, so consult a legal professional before proceeding.
