Step 3: Engaging on Posts

Step 3: Engaging on Posts

Once you’ve found posts from people asking for help, recommendations, or advice related to aging loved ones, caregiving, or home care, it’s time to engage with them thoughtfully and professionally.

Why This Step Matters

When you consistently comment on posts and offer support, you become a trusted name in your community. Over time, community members—both direct and indirect connections—will begin tagging you in these types of posts based on the trust they’ve built with you and the Qualicare brand.

How to Engage on a Post (Step-by-Step)

  1. Tag the person who made the original post looking for help or advice. This ensures they get a notification and see your comment.

  2. Introduce yourself as the owner of your Qualicare location and tag your Facebook Business Page. This helps others in the group quickly visit your page to learn more about what you offer.

  3. Briefly share how you can help, keeping it warm, professional, and focused on their needs. Offer to move the conversation to a private message.

There are 2 different approaches you can choose from to execute on this step:

Idea
Option 1: Elevator Speech Comment
Write a brief, personalized response that highlights your unique value and positions you as a trusted local expert.

“@JaneSmith Hi Jane, I’m Lori, the owner of @QualicareCalgary. We specialize in home care and dementia support, offering personalized care plans for families navigating aging and health challenges. I’m also a nurse and would be happy to chat more about what you’re going through. I’ve sent you a private message!”

Idea
Option 2: Short Introduction + DM Follow-Up
Keep it simple with a brief introduction, tag your business page, and let them know you will be sending them a direct message.

“@JaneSmith Hi there! I’m Lori, the owner of @QualicareCalgary. I’ve sent you a quick message—happy to help however I can!”

Group Rules

If the group doesn’t allow business owners to comment directly or promote their services:

  1. Ask a friend or connection in the group to recommend you in a comment.
  2. Then follow up with the original poster via direct message (DM) and offer your support personally.
  3. Always check the group rules before posting to ensure you’re following guidelines.

How to Respond to Direct Referrals in a Post

If someone tags you in a post as a referral:

  1. Like both the original post and the comment where you were tagged.
  2. Thank the person who tagged you publicly in the comment.
  3. Tag the original poster in your reply so they’re notified and can easily see your message.
  4. Use one of the two approaches above to introduce yourself and let them know you’re happy to connect.
